Industrial silicon is obtained by melting silica (quartz sand) as raw material and using carbon materials as reducing agents in an electric arc furnace. Industrial silicon products have very strict requirements for raw materials. Therefore, it is required that the chemical composition and physical properties of the raw materials must comply with the product and smelting process, and meet the following basic requirements:
01. The main chemical composition of the furnace charge must meet the requirements of product chemical composition and smelting process.
02. The furnace material must have good chemical activity to facilitate the smooth reduction reaction.
03. The furnace material should have a reasonable particle size and good thermal stability, so that the electric furnace has uniform breathability and good heat exchange performance.
04. The furnace material must have a high specific resistance to ensure a certain depth of electrode insertion and ensure smooth production.
